Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-08
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the DetectZeStack API and website (the "Service") operated by DetectZeStack ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. The Service
DetectZeStack provides an HTTP API for detecting the technology stack, DNS configuration, security headers, SSL certificate state, and tracked changes for any publicly accessible website. The Service is provided as-is on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee that any specific technology will be detected, that detection results will be 100% accurate, or that the Service will be uninterrupted.
2. Account and API Keys
To use the Service beyond the demo on the homepage, you must create an account by providing a valid email address. We will issue you an API key. You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential. You agree not to share your API key with third parties or use it from publicly accessible source code.
You may rotate or disable your API key at any time from your dashboard. If we detect a compromised key, we may rotate it on your behalf and notify you.
3. Subscription Plans and Billing
The Service is offered with a free tier (100 requests per month) and paid subscription plans (Pro $9/mo, Ultra $29/mo, Mega $79/mo, all in USD). Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). By subscribing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.
If your payment fails, we will retry the charge for up to three (3) attempts over approximately 14 days. If all retries fail, your subscription will be canceled and your account will revert to the free tier.
4. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard via the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep paid-tier access until then, then your account drops to the free tier. We do not pro-rate cancellations.
5. Refunds
Refunds are handled manually on a case-by-case basis. If you believe you were charged in error, or you cancel within fourteen (14) days of an annual or monthly charge for any reason, email [email protected] with your account email and we will issue a full refund within 7 business days. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Submit URLs you do not have a legitimate research, security, monitoring, or business reason to inspect.
- Attempt to overwhelm, denial-of-service, or otherwise abuse our infrastructure or any third-party site we resolve on your behalf.
- Use the Service to facilitate illegal activity, harass any individual or organization, or violate the rights of any third party.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code of the Service beyond what is exposed via the public API.
- Resell or sublicense the Service without our written permission.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section without refund.
7. Rate Limits and Quotas
Each plan includes a monthly request quota. Requests beyond your quota will receive HTTP 429 responses until your quota resets at the start of the next calendar month. We also enforce a global per-IP burst rate limit (currently 5 requests per second sustained, burst of 10) to protect infrastructure stability.
8. Data and Privacy
We collect and process the data described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service you consent to that processing. We never sell your personal data.
9. Service Availability
We aim for 99.9% uptime on paid plans. Free-tier users receive best-effort availability. We do not currently offer a contractual SLA with credits; the 99.9% target is operational. Planned maintenance is announced via the status page.
10. Modifications to the Service or Terms
We may modify or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We will provide at least thirty (30) days' notice via email before any change that materially reduces a feature you are paying for. We may update these Terms by posting a new version at detectzestack.com/terms. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription and emailing [email protected] to request account deletion. We may terminate accounts that violate Section 6 (Acceptable Use), are inactive for more than twelve (12) months on the free tier, or for any other reason on thirty (30) days' notice.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that detection results are accurate or complete.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR (B) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding arbitration in Miami-Dade County, Florida, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. You and we each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action.
